BUTANONE

Hi today I made Butanone CH₃COCH₂CH₃. It is the second most simple ketone and here some facts about and a photo of it.

1. It is used as a plastic adhesive or welding material.
2. Butanone smells very similar to butterscotch.

ACETONE

Today I made acetone C₃H₆O the simplest of the ketones.

1. Acetone is used in nail polish remover and paint thinner.
2. It is so flammable that in temperatures over -20 degrees without being mixed with any thing else will explode and flash fire by having contact with the air.

ACETALDEHYDE

Hello everyone today I made acetaldehyde C₂H₄O. This molecule is the second most simple aldehyde here is a photo of it and some facts about the molecule.

1. Acetadehyde is one of the most important aldehydes.
2. It is produced naturally by bread coffee and ripe fruits.
3. The mixture of Urea and acetaldehyde creates a resin.

FORMALDAHYDE

1. It is the smell of apricots and pears.

ETHYLBUTYRATE

Hello today I made ethyl butyrate C₆H₁₂O₂. Here is a picture of it and some facts.

1. It is the smell me know as pine apple smell but occurs naturally in other fruits.
2. It is used as artificial flavoring tasting like orange juice, and artificial flavoring like pineapple in alcoholic beverages.
3. Many people associate ethyl butyrate as the smell of fresh orange juice.
