PROPANE

Today I made Propane C3 H8 , the third in the series of saturated Alkanes. Here is a photo and five fun facts.

1.Propane is a safe sensible fuel to use even in your house.
2. Boiling point -46.3°F
3.Melting point -306.4°F
4.Like Methane and Ethane it is a gas at standard temperature and pressure, but it can be compressed into a safe liquid.
5.Propane is used over various levels of commercial items.

  1. Very good, although from the angle you used, you can't see one of the H's (thought I know it is there). I don't know if you are interested but I think it would be interesting to see variations on the molecular models you have already made. For example take your methane model, removed one of the H's and replace it with a hydroxyl group (OH) to form methanol or alcohol. Or take your propane model and replace one of the two H's linked to the middle C with a hydroxyl group to make isopropanol (rubbing alcohol). Or not. I am interested in wherever you want to go with this.

    1. Thank you Prabhu I appreciate that you like my blog, and I think I might do the things you stated for some projects next week.
